Après les deux derniers articles qui étaient de bons pavés, je vous en propose un bien plus court.

Aujourd’hui nous allons nous intéresser à Lee Kui-On (李居安).

Il s’agit d’une actrice qui est apparue dans trente films entre 1965 et 1971, somme toute une période d’activité assez brève. Elle aurait également été la première femme à avoir réalisé des films d’arts martiaux à Hong Kong mais je n’ai trouvé aucun film réalisé par elle.

Lee Kui-On fut diplômée de l’Opera Institute à Taiwan et fut également membre du prestigieux Hong Kong Cantonese Opera. Elle devint par la suite l’enseignante de nombreux célèbres chanteurs d’opéra cantonais.

Elle fut la première femme célèbre à avoir fait de la publicité à Yip Man lorsqu’elle devint son élève au début des années soixante. C’est aussi la seule femme à qui Yip Man enseigna le système wing tsun en entier.

Lee Kui-On se maria à grand maître Cheung King Kong qui était également élève de Yip Man et le grand frère de grand maître William Cheung.
